Consumer Inflation Expectations Index

The Consumer Inflation Expectations Index was launched in June 2014 and is obtained based on information collected within the scope of the Consumer Expectations Survey.

Inflation expectations are highly relevant to understanding the inflationary process and can be used as support for decision making in the private sector and the adjustment of short-term economic policy.

Quantitative inflation expectations indicators have been produced by FGV IBRE since September 2005 and have been published as an accessory to analyses on the evolution of consumer confidence.

Monitoring the inflation perception and expectations of consumers.

Geographic Coverage:
Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Salvador.

Frequency:
Monthly.
