The mission of the Applied Economic Research of the Brazilian Institute of Economy of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (IBRE/FGV) is to produce and disseminate accurate national economic data.
Under the direction of Armando Castelar — former senior researcher of the Institute for Institute of Applied Economic Research (IPEA) and chief of the economic department of the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) — the Applied Economic Research is staffed by experts.
