The IBRE Center of International Economics works to formulate and disseminate knowledge of international economics. Its main areas of research relate to international trade in goods and services, trade agreements (the WTO and preferential agreements); and the interface of politics and economics in the international arena.
The Center also monitors what is happening with regard to Brazil’s trade policies and balance of payments and regularly produces statistical series for the real effective exchange rate. Not only does it publish scholarly articles, it also carries out research for government agencies and nongovernmental organizations, and its staff participate regularly in national and international seminars and other discussions on hemes of Brazilian external trade policy.
As part of its efforts to disseminate information, the center publishes regularly in Conjuntura Econômica magazine.
